注释：
1、chairperson
全称：the chairperson of the board of directors "董事会会长"。以往所用的chairman被视为性别歧视用语，所以现在通称为chairperson.但若指某特定的男性时，则可用chairman(若女性则用chairwoman)；
2、president
以美国而言，所谓的president 并无管理上的实权。相当于懂事代表兼总裁的“最高管理者”大多称为chief executive officer(首席执行官，简称CEO).此外，president和CEO未必是同一人，因此身兼两职者，在名片上的职衔可写成president and CEO。董事长兼任CEO时，称为：chairman（or chairperson）and CEO。
3、vice president
美国企业中相当于“经理”职位者，皆称为vice president 公司中同时有多位vice president 并不稀奇。因此，要明确指出在本土企业中担任executive officer "副总经理（副总裁）"时，可写成executive vice president。此外，在多位副总裁中居首位者，称为senior vice president（首席副总裁）。
4、director
director＝a member of the board of directors。一般是指董事会里不管事的“董事”，但在美国企业中，“经理”级的职务大多称为“director”。至于辅佐总裁，具管理权的资深执行董事和执行董事，则分别称为senior managing director 及 managing director。借此加以区别（managing director 也可称为 executive director），不过英国的managing director（MD)，通常指的是“董事代表兼总裁”（或最高管理者）。此外非每天到班的高级主管，称为outside director。
5、advisor
公司里负责对重大事项提供建言，解决争议的高层顾问可称为advisor，若欲强调其为名誉职务的地位，则称为senior advisor。若是特定职位者（比如总裁的）顾问，则称为advisor to the president。某项专门技术领域上的顾问，也称为advisor，不过就像technical consultant（技术顾问）或legal counselor（法律顾问）一样，大多用consultant 或counselor 来表示（不过两者皆可代换为advisor）。一般的顾问通常为corporate advisor。
6、ceneral manager
是指在某一特定业务中，担任统筹者的职位，同时管理不同的部门或业务，通常有数位manager接受其监督。因此，“分店长，分公司经理”也跟据实际情况而称为general manager。例如：general manager of the New York Branch “纽约分店长”
7、department manager
department manager，section manager 或branch manager等职务都是对其职务的一般称呼，实际上的写法为：manager of the personnel department＝personnel manager （人事经理），manager of the accounting section＝accounting manager（会计科长）。
8、deputy department manager
director，manage，chief等职级的副经理，经理助理，通常都在其特定的职称前，加上vice，deputy，associate，assistant等形容词。其中的deputy，原为public officials（公务员）的职位，其意为“代理，副手”。不过，实际上在商界也作为assistant。associate和assistant相比，一般而言，前者有较高阶的感觉。另有一说法为acting manager这是直属上司manager不在或空缺时，表示“代理”的说法。
